Jesus gave this charge “God authorized and commanded me to commission you: Go out and train everyone you meet, far and near, in this way of life, marking them by baptism in the threefold name: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Then instruct them in the practice of all I have commanded you. I’ll be with you as you do this, day after day after day, right up to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:18-20)
Missions is the heartbeat of Conyers First Methodist Church. Sharing the grace and love of Jesus through compassionate, tangible acts of service is woven into the very fabric of who we are. Below are some of the ministries and mission efforts we prayerfully support as we seek to make the love of Christ known in our community and around the world.
Mission Team
Our Missions Team is actively engaged in supporting a variety of community organizations that minister to the needs of children, families, individuals, and those facing difficult life circumstances. Some of the ministries and organizations we support include the Rockdale Department of Family & Children’s Services foster children and families, Positive Childhood Alliance, Robert L. Moore Disciple House, Refuge Pregnancy Center, and One Heart Ministries. In addition, we also support several missionaries serving throughout the United States as they share the Gospel and serve their communities in the name of Christ.
Hospitality Team
Our Hospitality Team faithfully provides meals and food services for numerous church-wide gatherings and community events throughout the year. With servant hearts and gracious hospitality, this dedicated team of volunteers works tirelessly to create welcoming spaces where people can gather, connect, and experience the love of Christ through fellowship and care.
Shelley’s Kids
Supports children in need by providing essentials like food, clothing, school supplies,
and encouragement to help them thrive.
Good Samaritan
Offers assistance to individuals and families facing hardship, helping with basic needs such as food,
utilities, and emergency support.
Meals on Wheels
Delivers nutritious meals to homebound seniors and individuals,
while also providing friendly visits and wellness checks.
Stephen Ministry
Provides one-on-one, Christ-centered care to people going through
difficult life situations such as grief, illness, or loss.
Ambassadors
Visits homebound members, sharing love, encouragement,
and prayer to help them stay connected and cared for.
Honduras Missions
Supports mission work in Honduras through outreach,
service projects, and partnerships that meet spiritual and physical needs.
Bibles for the Community
Distributes Bibles to individuals in the local community
to share God’s Word and encourage spiritual growth.
